Welcome to the website of the Stony Brook University Undergraduate Student Government.

We are the governing body that represents the interests and concerns of the 16,000+ Undergraduate Students at Stony Brook University. USG’s most notable function is to acknowledge, fund and regulate the 450+ clubs and organizations whose membership is open to all members of the Undergraduate Student Body. In addition, the USG is responsible for being stewards of the $3.4 million dollar student activity fee.

Some notable accomplishments of USG to date are and not limited to:

  • Implementation of the University’s first ever 24 hour library operation
  • Advocating for the $3 million dollar renovation of the North and Central Reading Room
  • Bringing the It’s On Us and HeforShe campaign to combat sexual violence and gender inequality.
  • Raise awareness of critical issues like diversity, toxic drinking. depression/anxiety, and other mental health illnesses through programming and collaboration.
  • Host sold-out concerts featuring celebrity talent such as: Future, Diplo, Panic! At The Disco, Fetty Wap, Childish Gambino. Cash Cash, Twenty One Pilots, and Trevor Noah.
